We went to a Cider Mill, bought some tasty cider and cider donuts. Hard to get all three kids smiling!




Next we headed to Sackets Harbor to visit the famous battle site. Jason and Dylan decided to raid the Apple tree. First Dylan just tried to hold Jason.

Then he decided he better just get on his shoulders.

Success!!

Then off to Alexandria Bay home to the Thousand Islands. Terry dropped us off and went to get a picnic lunch. Jason was in the water before I sat down. They had lots of fun in the sand and water.

You can't help but notice the WELCOME HOME banners hung near the airfield. And driving thru the neighborhoods you will see signs that say WELCOME HOME DADDY, WELCOME HOME MY HERO. I tear up every time I see a sign. Yesterday at lunch Terry asked me if I had seen all the signs and just talking about it made me want to cry. I am so happy for those families. They are true American Heros, their loved ones have been gone for 15 months.... That is a long time. I say this time after time, deployments suck for everyone. Every time you think you have it bad, you hear a story of someone that might just have it a little (or alot) worse than you. It doesn't matter how many kids you have, how old your kids are, or what your rank is it is hard on everyone.

Welcome home 1st Brigade, job well done by both soldiers and families.

We are now #2 on the 4 bedroom housing list. WooHoo... Hooah!!!! Okay before you go getting all excited, it really doesn't mean anything. I think we are still 1st to be offered, which we were also when we were #3 and if any K&E (key and essential) people get on the list we will go back down. Also we still need someone to move out, we are hoping that someone moves when 1st Brigade gets back from their 15 month rotation in Iraq. If I had the choice to move away from Fort Drum before winter, I would so do it in a heart beat.

I gave Terry a trip to CO for his birthday, needless to say he is thrilled and is already making plans. He has a good friend there in the Springs that he will stay with and fish with. We have another really good friend in CO that he hopes can also join them.

Fall is upon us, the leaves are beautiful, every color you can think is falling on our front lawn...don't want to disturb the beauty of it so haven't raked yet (sounds good anyway).

Had a great night of bunco a couple of days ago. It was one of my best games ever and I didn't win a dime. Had a roll off for one of the biggest prizes and lost. It really is a great group, and we have a lot of fun.

I am tired of the bailout and the elections, instead of getting stuff done everyone wants to blame the other guy. Shut your mouths and do some work I say... Broaden your shoulders, take some responsibility, and say we did this let's fix it.

I am also loving facebook. I have reconnected with friends from Fort Carson, Quantico, and many more places we have lived over the past 17 years. I strongly urge people to join, it isn't weird and I really don't see how anyone is going to bug you on facebook.
