Look we took pictures this morning.... I will try to take pictures of the same houses every week to show you the progress. Maybe after all the work to show this we will get a house already built.....



By the way I am taking radom pictures. In no way do I think we are getting this particular house.

Okay it says it is 36 degrees outside, not bad for 36. It isn't windy (at the moment), no moisture so really is isn't bad at all. It is suppose to get near 60 degrees today and tomorrow before it rains over the weekend and takes a nose dive next week barely making it to 40 degrees a few days. Why am I selfish?? I am hoping the weather stays as nice as possible (no rain or snow) so that they can get further on the new houses they are building. I am resigned to the fact that we will have to wait for a house to be built before we move and the better the weather the faster they will go up. They have poured some of the foundations, let's see how fast they go up. Maybe I can sneak over there during the weekend to get a photo up so we can track the progress together. Of course knowing my luck they will have only poured foundations for 3 bedroom houses...

Today during my trip to the commissary part of my key ring broke/fell apart and several keys fell off including my mailbox key, the truck key and the house key. I found the mailbox key in my purse so assumed all of them were in there. When I got to my house I started unloading my purse to find the house key, much to my dismay I couldn't find it. Panic starting building quickly as I realized the only key out side the house was in Colorado with Terry due back late tomorrow night. So then I start trying the windows, all are locked. As I walked around the house trying each window I decided to try the sliding glass door, IT WAS UNLOCKED!!!! I was so happy that I didn't lock it this morning after the boys left. Note to self make some copies of the house key.

My family in New Mexico recently shipped their cattle off to market, something they do every year at this time. It is their payday!! I couldn't help but think of Kirk missing this year. I wasn't there, but that was my first thought when the day came. I don't have a date on this photo, but I am assuming it was taken about 5 years ago around this same time.

The owners installed this outdoor wood furnace a few years ago, and we didn't take advantage of it last winter, we didn't want to buy a bunch of wood and then move. Of course with our perfect 20/20 vision we see how silly that was. So this winter to help beat the cost of propane we made the leap and bought 10 cords of wood. If we have to stay in the house much past January we will need more, but at least this is a good start. You throw wood in here occasionally and it heats the water for the heat, and all your hot water needs, so now I will just use propane for dryer and cooking. The bad part is that I will have to go add wood, I guess DB and I will have a nice trail thru the snow to the wood and furnace. The last picture is from my porch so you can see it isn't too far.

When I got my hair colored and cut, the stylist said something that has been bugging me every since. I am still trying to find "the one" person that can do my hair the way I like. Although I think this woman did a pretty good job, I am not sure I will go back to her.

She has kids in their 20's and is a local. (Maybe that says it all right there "local") She knew I was associated with the military and asked how long we have been with the military. I gave her the short story about how Terry had been enlisted and then came back in as an officer and that we only had 3 years till 20 but that I knew we would be in at least 6 more. I think she asked about the deployments and then she said "Oh I could never do that. My husband is my best friend and we do everything together and I just couldn't spend a year away from him."

Okay lots of people have said the "I could never do that" to me. Well guess what my husband is my best friend and we do everything together. And we survive deployments because that is what he does for a living. He has served in the military in some way since he was 19. He will go over 22 years this month, so do you really think I could ask him to quit so that I would have my best friend by my side to do stuff with??????

I feel so much better.
