Time and Temperature in Afghanistan

Task Force Spartan

Chicago

Posted

Terry and I were able to sneak away to Chicago to celebrate my birthday and our 16th wedding Anniversary. Terry's Mom came from Iowa to watch the rug rats. Needless to say, I am not sure who had more fun, us or the kids.

We stayed at the Swiss hotel and much to our surprise ended up in a huge suite. Biggest Hotel room I have ever been in. We were right on the river about 2 blocks from the Lake. The weather was wonderful. We went to the Art Musum and ate lots of good food and shopped along Michigan Avenue. We were also lucky enough to see some friends that were stationed with us in Germany.

40th

Can you belive I turned 40 a week ago??? Me neither. My husband surprised me when I woke up by leaving beautfuly wrapped gifts on the table. Kids were so excited, but I only opened one, an IPOD nano. Still haven't loaded any songs or books, but soon.....

Terry had lunch with me and then he kept the kids while my friends here in Leavenworth made dinner for me. It was a wonderful time and they surprised me with a charm bracelet. Thanks girls.
Now I am scouring the internet for new Charms. Another reason to shop.

Turning 40 wasn't too hard, I guess it is better than 41.

Kansas weather

Posted

In only 18 months of living in California I have totally forgotten that the rest of the US has ever changing weather. Since moving to Kansas we have experienced Ice, snow, wind, tornados, rain, wind, clouds, rain, hail, wind, no sun, sun, wind..... Shall I go on. Everytime we think it is Spring, mother nature brings back the cold wind and no sun.
